It all began with the Late Burde Sadananda Kamath, a wise travelling merchant in the 1930s. His business took him across Malnad, and during one of his travels, he heard about the demand for Udupi Jewellery. What he discovered in the famed land of Udupi was the finest jewellery ever. He came across craftsmen who were truly invigorated by nature, and perhaps even by virtue of divine engagements, creating some fabulously celestial ornaments. He was enchanted by their intricate patterns and unadulterated beauty. That very moment, in his mind, Abaran was born.
